Photography started out as a hobby for me at an early age. My parents would take my sisters and I on vacation every year, and I remember having a little camera that I would use to take pictures of scenery.
In the mid-1990s, I took up an interest in astronomy. I saw some beautiful pictures of stars in books and magazines. I was inspired to take pictures like that. I did my research and purchased an SLR film camera. I now had a camera that would allow me control over the photo, and I learned about its features so I could take advantage of that. I also began to take more serious pictures of landscapes. I love being out in nature photographing the beauty of God's creation.
MY EXPERIENCE
I have over 15 years experience in professional photography. I have been fortunate to work for several excellent photography companies. I have learned numerous things about photography from all of them.
In 1997, I started working for Marc Nathan Photographers. I photographed school and business events and graduations for him. I have kept working for him on a freelance basis since then.
In 2003, I started working for Melissa Fleming of Houston Paparazzi. We have photographed weddings and corporate events together. I have also photographed some weddings and events for her on my own. I still work for her today.
From 2004-2011, I worked for Lifetouch National School Studios. I photographed student individuals for the yearbook, classroom groups, senior portraits, and sports teams and individuals.
Since 2011, I have worked for Strawbridge School Studios. I have also photographed student individuals, classroom groups, senior portraits, and sports teams and individuals for the company.
MY PHILOSOPHY
Photography is a passion for me. I believe in bringing out the best in people when they are in front of my camera. I am energetic and excited when I take photos because I hope that will put people in a positive mood and make them feel more relaxed. I'm not afraid to make a bit of a fool of myself! I have as much fun as possible- but I am serious about the resulting photos.
I also love to capture candid photos. I love capturing pure emotion at an event or wedding. Photographs that capture people smiling, laughing, or crying tears of joy are treasures to me.
